Business card printing 'is incorporating QR codes'

QR codes are set to be the next big thing in marketing, which may include business card printing, it has been claimed.

Business card is already incorporating quick response (QR) codes and the software will become increasingly important for companies, it has been suggested.

The Chicago Tribune states use of the codes has "exploded" recently, as a result of the proliferation of smartphones, which are used to scan the symbols to be redirected to a website featuring more information about a firm.

"At first glance, a QR code looks like abstract art, but the black and white squiggly lines are poised to be the next big thing in marketing and advertising," the news provider comments.

It adds the codes can be seen everywhere at the moment, including in shop windows and on business cards

John Patterson of the Monroe Country Convention and Tourism Bureau recently told the Monroe News the technology will becomes increasingly popular as organisations find further uses for it, noting it is an easy and free way to send a specific message.
