Burton-upon-Trent firefighters to use cheap flyers

The Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service may need the services of flyer printers as part of an initiative providing advice on preventing fires.

Flyer printers may be use by firefighters in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, as they look to raise awareness following a recent blaze.

Crews are intending to use leaflets - such as cheap flyers - to inform residents about the risks of fire following a fatal incident last week, the Burton Mail reports.

Flames had to be tackled in a block of flats in Branston Road and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service will be employing its After the Fire initiative, which sees people living nearby given tips on avoiding a similar accident.

"We will be knocking on people's doors and posting leaflets so we can test their smoke alarms and offer safety advice," watch manager Ian Pullen told the news source.

The fire service may require the services of flyer printers on a regular basis, as Mr Pullen noted the scheme is used across the county after any accidental fire.

Leaflets are also being used by police in Tower Hamlets, London, in order to promote safety on public transport according to the East London Advertiser.
