Folded leaflet printers to become more sustainable?

Environmental considerations are important to consumers, it has been claimed, which may affect folded leaflet printers.

Folded leaflet may wish to reassess the sustainability of their practices, following recent comments on consumer buying habits.

Dan Welch, co-editor of Ethical Consumer magazine, said research shows over half of Britons have changed the way they shop in order to take account of green issues.

He suggested more could be done in terms of regulating the verification of environmentally-friendly products to help customers make informed choices.

People need to have "an overview of the ethics of the company behind the brand", rather than simply being told whether or not something is a 'green' item, the expert explained.

Individuals trust organisations to make ethical choices so they do not have to work it out for themselves, Mr Welch added.

And for folded leaflet printers, improving the sustainability of their business as a whole may necessitate investigating the practices of their supply chain, as well as their overall carbon footprint, including waste and energy consumption, as recently proposed by Peter Nowack in an article for WhatTheyThink.
