Leaflet printing to be used to highlight flood risks in Scotland

A campaign will make use of leaflet printing to inform Scottish residents about the risks of flooding.

Leaflet printing is set to be used in Scotland to highlight the risks of flooding to home and business owners as part of a Floodline campaign.

The BBC reports the materials will be distributed to houses and companies in flood-risk areas by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa).

Professor James Curran, director of science and strategy at the organisation, said: "Flooding is a fact of life but having access to good quality advice and guidance helps people better prepare and reduce its impact on their lives."

He explained this is why leaflets are being sent directly to hundreds of properties, so individuals can be equipped with the information they need to be aware of the dangers and take action against them.

Sepa believes the campaign will "directly help" people who live in flood-risk communities, Professor Curran added.

The agency may be well served to update their records before sending out the leaflets, as Jo Bell of Millennium recently told Marketing Week it is vital companies screen their databases for people who have passed away to avoid posting unnecessary materials.
