PR firm owners 'should use business cards often'

Taking business cards to dinner parties to make new contacts is one of the tips that have been offered to those setting up a PR firm.

Owners of new public relations (PR) firms should items from business card printers as often as possible in order to promote their company.

This is the view of Richard Ellis, communications director at the Public Relations Consultants Association, who told the Drum the promotional articles should be utilised in conjunction with an impressive website in order to attract clients.

"Take your business cards to dinner parties," he advised, adding bosses should "network like crazy" because "contacts are everything in this game".

Mr Ellis remarked a well-designed online presence can also help attract business for PR companies that are just starting out, as an attractive portal "provides reassurance to potential clients" and can be useful from a business development perspective.

Business cards are also crucial for aspiring artists, one art house owner recently stated.

Julia Evans told Round Town News they are one of the easiest ways of getting prospective customers interested in an artist's work.
