Users of folded leaflet printers to benefit from new Royal Mail tool?

Marketers that use the services of folded leaflet printers may wish to use a new direct mail tool.

Marketing firms that use the services of folded leaflet printers could find a new tool from Royal Mail beneficial.

The Door Drops Online service will allow small and medium-sized businesses to devise and book direct mail campaigns and is specifically aimed at companies that may not have a direct relationship with a printer.

Phil Ricketts, head of strategy at the postal operator, said the tool will help enterprises accommodate for late Christmas shoppers.

This is because it will assist them to "adapt their marketing activities and quickly develop an unaddressed mail campaign if sales are slower than expected", he explained.

The move is the latest bid by Royal Mail to boost its commercial revenue, following a recent decision to increase the price of business post, which was met with resistance from the Direct Marketing Association.

Chris Combemale, executive director of the organisation, argued raising funds at the expense of firms would be counter-productive.
