QR codes 'have endless uses' for flyers

Flyer printers may wish to incorporate QR codes onto their promotional materials, following recent comments.

Firms that use the services of flyer printers may be interested in incorporating quick response (QR) codes into the promotional materials, after it was suggested the technology has "endless" uses.

John Patterson, director of the Monroe County Convention and Tourism Bureau, told the Monroe News the organisation has begun to use QR codes on its posters and flyers to direct smartphone owners to travel information on the internet.

He stated he plans to incorporate the codes into the bureau's calendar of events and other advertising streams in the future, predicting the method will only become more popular as companies find further uses for it.

"This is a real easy way to send a specific message," Mr Patterson continued, adding it is convenient and free.

In an article for 1to1 Media, David Henkel also suggested using QR codes on direct mail materials such as flyers, noting integrating different channels is key to a successful marketing campaign.
